I had tons of fun building this logo. Had to learn to master Adobe Illustrator CS3's 3D modeling engine to get it looking just right. The client later requested that the color palette of a sister company's logo was used which was gold and purple which came out ok but I still prefer this variation.

I preferred this color palette as well but unfortunately company politics got in the way. You know what I mean Martijn.

Nice piece of modelling. I haven't explored 3D modelling on Illustrator - is there any chance that you might provide a tutorial (in a future blog post) on how you created this piece?
